Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Molecule LUMO Calculation (the "website"), including the calculator, the guides and the contact form, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the website. If you use the website on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it.
The service
Molecule LUMO Calculation provides an online calculator for molecular orbital energies and related educational content, free of charge and without registration. The calculator runs in your web browser: the structures you enter or upload are processed on your own device and are not sent to the website's server.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use automated tools to send bulk requests that disrupt the website or its contact form
- Attempt to access systems or data you are not authorized to use, or to probe, scan or test the website's security
- Send unlawful, abusive or misleading content through the contact form
- Copy the website's content wholesale or present it as your own
The contact form accepts up to five messages per hour from one connection. Messages that look automated may be discarded.
Scientific results
Results are computational models provided for research and education. They are not guaranteed to be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose. See the Disclaimer and Accuracy and Limitations.
Intellectual property
Site content, design and guides belong to Molecule LUMO Calculation unless stated otherwise. You may quote short passages with a link to the source page. Results you generate from your own inputs may be used freely, including in publications, provided you report the method and settings shown with them.
The calculator uses OpenChemLib, which is distributed under the BSD-3-Clause license. Extended Hückel parameters are published values from the scientific literature, credited on the Methodology page.
Availability and changes
The service may be changed, paused or discontinued at any time, including the methods offered. Changes to the engine are recorded through its version number, which is shown with every result.
Limitation of liability
The website is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website's operator is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website or any result obtained from it.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the website's operator is established, without regard to conflict of law rules. If you use the website as a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live.

Updates are posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
